I hate fantasy

I hate fantasy as a genre. Magical realism is a thousand times better. It’s about regular human beings with a little extra in regular everyday settings, while fantasy is totally unhinged, like a drug induced fever dream, with weird creatures and stupid, nonexistent worlds.

The French movie Amelie is what I think of whenever I hear the term magical realism. That is a beautiful movie. So much fantasy shit is just deery and dark and bleh. Like, I like Lord of the Rings, but like the generic knights and wizards shit I can't stand.
