Today I was outside in my yard playing with my 2 year old Aussie/Border Collie mix Dolly... Yes she was off leash but it was in her own yard and she was running around burning off some energy.. this drunk man that lives in the alleyway came walking with this little dog and my dog see it and lunge forward excitedly to go say hi to the dog...the drunk man started kicking at my dog saying she was going to attack his dog when Dolly wasn't showing any signs of aggression.. he then repeatedly kept kicking at my dog and threatened that he was going to shoot her. She didn't even do anything wrong...

people are strange, especially when it comes to dogs
I have had more aggressive, bad encounters with asshole people since I got a dog than I ever had in my long life
if you see him in the future, just pause your play and go inside until he passes
he most likely walks the same time every day, so avoid that hour and play earlier or later
assholery is on the rise, just know there's a lot more other idiots out there ready to hurt your friendly dog so be protective of your dog, I have seen people pull guns out on labradoodles *facepalm*
big tough guy needs a gun to protect himself from a fucking labradoodle on the beach, what a puss, he needed to stay home where he's safe from fun!

Did your dog's lunge forward bring it off your property? If so, then with there being no way to control your dog because it was not leashed and not knowing you or your dog, a person is within their rights to defend against it's approach towards them. The instances of people being bitten by an off leash dog the owner swears doesn't bite are many. And when the person is bitten, the owners try to play it off like it's a little scratch when it's not. Without proper records of rabies vaccines, that person now has a wound that will leave a mark and to be on the safe side will have to get rabies prevention protocol, and the cost of all that should all be covered by the dog owner out of pocket or covered by homeowners. Dog ownership is a liability like driving a car.
