The Passion Of Trump

NY Hush Money Trial judge has issued a gag order on Trump. A violation could result in Trump being held in contempt of court, fined or even jailed. The judge has to look like he's in charge here, but in actuality, what can he really do to Trump when he does eventually violate the order?

The contempt of court fines and jail that might scare other defendants into compliance won't do shit to make Trump bend to the court's will. Fines? Trump's got a shit ton of cash. He gets fined for some huge sum, his lawyers just stall the case at hand to appeal the huge contempt fine. Plays right into their "Stall Until Voting In Fall" strategy. Jail? Good luck with getting the Secret Service to go along with that. Home confinement maybe at Bedminster? Again, not going to work with Trump. Then his lawyers will move to stop ALL his trials around the country as it violates his constitutional right to be in court.

The judge can bang his gavel and issue all the threats he wants. It's Trump's show "The Passion Of Trump" (pick a pun here, they all work) and it plays well with his maga supporters, the one's who will carry him to the finish line where the rest of Republican voters will have no choice but vote for him or let Biden coast to a win.
