My dog makes me sad.

Idk why im here. Okay, im a teenager who lives in singapore, but the world in general has a huge dog population. I am cureently 14. 8 to 7 years ago, my parents rescued a puppy from drowning under a bridge during a storm, and had intended to care for him until he was old enough to go to a shelter. Being the 6 year old i was, i begged to keep him. What kind of kid doesnt want a pet, yknow. Herss ths thing, though. Hes a singapore special. Which os basically a kind way of saying a mutt around here. Euthanasia is something that i am aware is necessary, but its still sad to see. So now, being older, years later with my lovely, adorable boy, wondering what wouldve happened to him if i wasn't so enthusiastic? Mutts are seldom adopted..it hurts to think what else couldve happened. And owning him? Has been an eye opening experience. How many mutts have been euthanized before somone looked past their common faces for a pure bred dog? Before they got to know its personality? No one thinks about that in the brief 5 seconds they pass a stray or a cage in the shelter. It hurts. I am unsure about the adopt dont shop quote, as i know there wre people who need some breeds for work or to fit their life style perhaps theyre sporty or atheletic.. but those who buy a pure bred for looks? If you wore a blindfold and stepped into a room with a mutt in a shelter, chances are theyd be juet as loving. I dont know why i brought this up.. but its such an odd thing for someone so young like me to talk to about to people.
