There There was Robbed

Tommy Orange deserves a fucking Pulitzer Prize. How TF was There There only a fucking runner up? Dude took a myriad of complex social issues, balanced them among a dozen characters that you could follow, and gave a fitting ending that led to a damn good sequel.

How tf is it that some book about little kids running around with their wands, and some of them apparently being trans because some of them aren't even male but got wands too. Like, I applaud Harry Potter for being so representative of the gender spectrum, but that probably wasn't intentional. Sharp, masculine jaws can have that affect though when you don't pay attention to how you wear your hair/shape your face. Dressing bland isn't gonna fix those issues either.

OTOH, There There was a fucking masterpiece. Tommy Orange worked in the fucking 50s and it doesn't even feel like it: The American Indian Movement/Indians of all Tribes took Alcatraz in the 50s. He illustrates kids using Youtube to learn about and reclaim their culture because it's all but dead. Fractured families caused by all the unnecessary external bullshit that we face. Even how drugs and lack of opportunity fractured our communities and turned us against one another with the plan to rob the powwow. Didn't even matter for the robbers that the prizes likely wouldn't be in cash because the organizers wouldn't have a safe way of handling that much money.

Shit was real af. Shit was relatable and colorful. Shit was grounded. But it didn't appeal to the elites who like playing with children. Bro needed to take a lesson from Epstein like JK did. Gotta appeal to the rich by giving them children to get anywhere.

and Wandering Stars could've been better, but the subtread with Pony kinda sucked. I get what he was trying to do by having him run away, disappear, and ultimately sending a letter back to the family. But it is kind of real. One of my cousins recently added me on FB and he's been in Washington for god knows how long. For some reason I'm one of the only people he's trying to talk to. So, maybe I'm wrong. I liked Wandering Stars a lot though. Orvil was kind of young, but not young enough to make the elites happy. High school is too old for them.
