Lumbee Fed Recognition XO
Finally the Lumbee Tribe of NC have gotten the federal recognition denied them mostly because of racism. The Lumbee have a very high percentage of African American genetic ancestry that does evidently present in the large number of dark skin members, making it hard to avoid the "one drop" discrimination. Sadly in all the verbiage accompanying the Trump Executive Order granting the long sought after federal recognition, this part of their genetic ancestry was left out with the mention of others. Go along to get along or a Lumbee deliberate tactical decision to be more relatable to the powers that be who control their future, it is unknown how this "oversight" came about.anonymous Political January 24, 2025 at 11:49 am 1 0
