I am so pissed

I am so pissed and borderline disappointed.

We have an office retreat soon and because it is a big company they sent out an email to fill out a participation form to confirm your roommate and (because it is a two room two bath suite) a pair of housemates. I immediately contacted my colleague that was my previous roommate last year and she confirmed with me to be roommates. We were contemplating on who to have as housemates and decided to check in with others at office the next day.

To my surprise, just before lunch the next day, I learned that we are no longer rooming (as she somehow agreed to be with another who had already filled the form, putting her name along with housemates that I intended to put). So, I ended up with another roommate and housemates that I am also close with but not my first choice. I was shocked to say the least when I was literally pushed out even though I had asked first. They were acting very chill like we could change who to room with later as long as we established a spot first. I was incredibly disappointed and acted curt during lunch.

It honestly gave me a wake-up call at how little I actually meant to them. Like I was a blur face in a group and not an actual person. Safe to say I know my place now and don't intend to care much about that bunch of people that acted normal when someone else takes my spot in the office. Others have a designated table spot so why not me??? It's like I'm not a person to them.
