I stopped using Reddit because of their "karma" system, and yes, it felt like a police state with it's labrynth like posting rules. And I was posting mundane, inoffensive content and replies. Like really, dudes, fuck off. If you go beyond the standard policing/banning of illegal and downright hateful material, then all you are doing is playing mind games and you are no longer a viable platform for free speech, or any kind of speech really.

So I switched to Quora even though the web interface seems more bloated and they have the "premium replies" crap, but at least I don't have to worry about slipping up in the most insignificant way and pissing them off over nothing.
