I cba typing this out properly but after seeing the towel head rant I just have to say: there are different kinds of people who exist in the world.
Some Muslims hate the Hijab
Some respect it but don't wear it because they don't want to
Some don't wear it because they don't feel like they can take that spiritual step in life yet
Some feel freeing wearing it
Some feel spiritual wearing it
Some love wearing it
The person wearing it doesn't define their personality. If they're horrible and wear the hijab, that's not because of the religion- it's because of who they are.
I know so many Muslim women in "Londonstan" that have very nice personalities and are well mannered but they don't show anything besides their eyes.
In the country that they live in, they don't need to. They want to. They feel free knowing they don't have to be judged for the way they look and no one can see them completely without their permission. It's not up to you or your American standards to judge whether what they wear should be worn or not.
I know there's so many women in other countries who don't have a choice but there are many women who do and still choose to. The matter isn't about "living by men's rules" or obeying a "patriarchal society" (that we still live in today), women wear the hijab to obey God.
If I dissed all gay ppl because of how a couple of gay ppl acted at a cafe I worked at, that would be unacceptable. A small group do not define the large (1.3billion ppl) who exist.
Get over your islamophobia. Learn to differentiate between a person's character and what they wear. Also, educate yourself on Islam like I did on other websites besides reddit. Open-mindedness is a learnt skill.
