In 2008 Burger King had a promotion for the then new Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull movie. They had little game pieces like McDonalds does with Monopoly, where you could get free food and shit.
I rarely ever got Burger King as a kid, and can't remember what I got but I did end up with a game piece. I had a piece that was good for one free Whopper, no purchase necessary. It had an expiration date of around August or so, possibly of the next year.
Anyway, I remember my dad and I were at Burger King one afternoon. I try to use the piece. The guy looks at it and says it's expired. I don't show it, but I was disappointed.
As an adult, almost 20 years later, upon randomly thinking about this. The guy should have did it anyway. He wouldn't have been fired. It wasn't a 20 year old game piece. It was probably barely past the expiration date. How many Whoppers go to waste each day if they aren't sold? And most importantly, I was a kid. By no means do I think kids should be spoiled or get special treatment or anything, but I do think something like this would have been nice. Cut someone a break and let them get what the game piece was for. It wasn't like I had more than $10 or so to my name, so it wasn't like I was able to afford much.
Anyway. I sit here rambling about someone whose face I can't even remember. That Burger King ended up closing down. Indiana Jones sucks. And I try to avoid fast food when I can.
