I think it's stupid that people keep their phones in their back pants pocket for a whole myriad of reasons. The only thing that can make it worse is to add in a phone case that doubles as a wallet Yip-eee! The thief not only has your phone, but all of your id and credit cards too. "Thanks for the wallet with the little internet connected computer inside!"

Phone in the back pocket is being done to look "cool". Kind of like people who intentionally walk around with their pants dropping down look like they either can't afford a belt or they are ahem, trying to attract other inmates in a male prison setting. Neither one of those things are cool. But this isn't just about the actual act, but people mindlessly following stupid trends. And these are the people who are easily manipulated into voting in tyrants to power, tyrants who hope to convert them into minions that will monster other people into submission.
