Throwing away this life for a supposed next

This is another thing I hate about religion is that it inspires people to not even care about this life. "This one does not matter because it's only temporary and the next life will be an eternal paradise." Yeah, except I was never shown an "afterlife", and all attempts at proof of one were very flimsy at best, and we are expected to believe a book that is known to have been rewritten many times to fit man's agenda to be "God's word". But people believe it and they just throw this life away and expext others to do the same.

All any God would have to do is say "Howdy!" to the modern world and erase all doubt of it's existence but that has never happened. So I have to work on the assumption that this is the only life I'll ever get.


And I've heard all of the excuses of why "Howdy!" was never said and they are all too convienient and just an ejection seat whenever a religious person is challenged on their beliefs.

I don't like religion, it's done far more harm than good, and it's a cancer on the world.
