this is what it is

You end up getting attention from someone you really dont like or feel any kind of sparks for, but are so caught up on the idea of wanting to be with someone that you go along with it. You either try for one date, or multiple, or possibly make it official, might even get married. The end result is the same. You're both really not happy.

Neither of you really love one another. you like the idea of kisses and holding hands, but with someone you feel something for. not this dull, living mannequin who you're trying to live out rom com fantasies with. the person doesn't mesh well with you on an intellectual level. very likely a wall there emotionally. double/triple points if they're some chronically online video game/social media/The Office obsessed adult child who doesn't know or want to know how to take care of themselves.

people make themselves miserable for a multitude of reasons. They want the rom com fantasy in real life, thinking they'll be Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone. or, maybe their parents had a shit relationship, and having a good relationship (in their mind) will give them the love and stability they never got. maybe it's just to fuck, which lemme tell you, not good if there isn't connection. It's just kinda like "i did a thing....why am I not happy?"

So, that is mine and many people's love lifes in a nutshell. only i stepped away. i may look like a freak for not conforming and by not being married yet. my mother may think I'm gay. I am also not in a shit relationship with an adult child who wants to bleed me dry financially, and always wants to bitch and cause drama because they're used to having to create all of their own problems.
