The Law Will Get Trump Too

The long arm of the law has been reaching for almost 20 years to grab this guy. And eventually it will grab Trump too. France has provided the exemplar on how to convict and imprison a President that thinks that title makes them too powerful and important to go to prison on convicted charges.

France has just jailed former French President Nicolas Sarkozy this year 2025 for crimes committed in 2007. For criminal conspiracy to obtain illegal funding from Muammar Gaddafi for his 2007 campaign he's going to have to do a 5yr stint in jail in an isolation unit with round the clock protection. There will be 2 officers from a special protection in each adjacent cell. His 1hr of exercise will be in a solitary yard under protection as well. This is just one of several legal cases Sarkozy has faced since leaving office and he's been convicted in 2 others: 2021, convicted of bribing a judge. 2024, convicted of more illegal campaign financing in a 2012 re-election bid. Both of these conviction he was allowed house arrest with an ankle monitor. But seems 3 conviction strikes is the charm in France and his now off to prison, the 1st modern French president to be sent to prison.

It's been almost 5ys since Trump's incited the insurrectionist attack on the US Capitol and egged on his insurgent mob to hang his VP he deemed disloyal because he was going to abide by the law (after trying his best to find a loophole he could live with to not to, however) and swear in the actual winner of the 2020 election. So maybe in 15ys or so, Trump will be off to prison as well for all his crimes if he's not dead from old age and imprisoned in Hell.
