Starmer The New Guy

Macron was happy to let the new guy Starmer be the face & take the lead on cleaning up their European Ukraine mess because he knows the drill from Trump's 1st term. Poor Starmer speaking in a parliamentary meeting last night about what he and the other leaders managed to accomplish at his called European Leader meeting was interrupted by an mp asking what effect the US pause on Ukraine arms would have on the plans going forward. Starmer curtly replied that's not happening so it won't be an issue. After being briefed after the parliamentary meeting he had to issue a correction on his reply to the mp question. Starmer better disabuse himself of the idea that a 2nd state visit offer to schmooze with the King means smooth sailing ahead for him and the European plan for Ukraine?

At a European Policy Center meeting today, it was mentioned the fact that Russia produces in 3 months what the Europeans produce combined in 1 year in military production; that's only 25% of what Russia churns out. Add to that fact, the various European countries' military weapons systems do not work well together. This handicap was not an issue with the US on board because the US military covered the spread in production and the US would likely be leading point due to superior military capability input that was designed to work together. With US pausing weapons to Ukraine the European countries are going to have to decide if they are going to pick up that weapons deficit to arm Ukraine with increased military production or bolster their own country's weak military position. This is especially true of the NATO countries most likely to be the one slated for the rumored 2026 attack announced by Ukraine because US NATO help may not be forthcoming.
