SS Gain Is Healthcare Loss

Social Security Dept has sent letter out to seniors touting Trump's so called Big Beautiful Bill provision that will allow about 90% of seniors receiving SS to no longer be taxed on them starting 2025yr taxes (at least until 2028 when this "incentive" provision sunsets unless congress decided to keep it). The thing is that any savings had by this provision will be totally lost on paying for higher medical insurance because of the BBB stripping away Medicare, Medicaid, Rural Hospital funding, etc -- funding that will have to be made up with higher costs on insurance and care. Not to mention the tariffs also adding to increased costs to seniors as well as everyone else.

Yeah, the same for no taxes on tips: A lot of tipped workers are on the lower income scale. They are more likely to need a social safety net like Medicaid or food program to catch them because their financial margins are so thin. It doesn't take much for them to find themselves & their families in hardship needing help that's now going to be harder to find and more expensive putting it out of reach when/if they do.
