I hate the excuses people make for retards and why generational white trash is a thing. The fact is if you grow up comfortable in the shit, you're very likely going to follow in the footsteps of the trash who came before you because you got to be unaware of a lot and got to be someone's Mini Me. If you weren't spoiled and comfortable, chances are you'll do better in some facet, because you were a black sheep who knew shit was fucked.

I grew up poor. I went through a lot of shit. I was always treated poorly and expected to crash and burn. i wasn't supposed to ever make it through school, get a driver's license, hold a job, or anything. I had to work 100X harder than my peers to get any of those things, or to even get out on my own. And i got out later than most becuase I had been so isolated and behind socially.

did I get shit for not being like the losers around me? yes. Did I have losers who'd fuck anything coming onto me? yes. Did i get shit for not making THE CHOICE of abusing drugs and alcohol? yes. In other words, people treated me like a freak for years as I worked my way through shit. Even now with me having my shit together, I still get looks for not being an addict, like why do I not drink? I have relatives who assume that I'm gay for not having 4 kids at this point in my life. I'm also not a washed up loser like they are, they don't get it because how can anyone not be like them?

Now let tell some facts. Male or female, you know point A leads to point B. If someone gets a person pregnant/gets pregnant through consentual fucking, it's on you. Doesn't matter if you had proper sexual education or not, you fucking have an idea and know the cause and effect. it falls on you if you were weak and careless. MALE OR FEMALE ITS ON YOU, don't spin it around to some sexism shit. Retarded, spoiled women think they'll get all kinds of benefits and can leach on the system if they have 20 kids, while retarded spoiled white trash guys think everyone else will take care of the baby. Hell, spoiled retarded woman half the time expect their parents or grandparents to raise their kids. I can't stand the poverty theory bullshit that doesn't acknowledge this reality. What excuse do they have for the white trash parable of the 30 year old getting an 18 year old pregnant? the shit happens all the time.

most people start drinking or doing drugs becuase they think the shit is badass and cool and that nothing bad can come of it. very few actually fall into the category of someone who falls into addiction, isn't happy about it, and should get and deserves help. Most are just spoiled brats who don't care about anything, as long as they get what they want at that moment. Tell you what, if you get traumatized by your crack head relatives, then you can talk to me about how wrong I am about this. Otherwise, STFU.

this is fact. not the theorized bullshit by rich people, like there has to be a reason people are like this. Shameless is about the closest and most accurate thing you can get to how it really is. strip away the over the top smut from the show, and it's a pretty true to life depiction.
