I miss the older e-ink devices with no backlight, hardware page turn button, and a nice serif font that wasn't just times new roman or libre serif or whatever. On the newer devices it feels like there's not much difference between that and just reading on my phone with tailored font/lighting settings. The third generation graphite kindle was my fav. Now I just don't read books because there's no tactile difference between reading an ebook vs reading reddit threads. If I try to read an ebook I feel weirdly compelled to tab away from it.

As a result of this, I have stopped reading books that don't give a nice feeling. I am back to paper books, but I did get really snobby about which ones are acceptable, because the tabbing away mental illness has even spread to stuff like cheap paperbacks anonymous 4 hours ago
