Monsters

Listen up, because I'm about to drop some harsh truths about the state of humanity. We like to think we're the pinnacle of evolution, the crown of creation, but let me tell you, we're a fucking disgrace. We're so twisted and cruel that even the drow from R.A. Salvatore's books look like saints in comparison.

Take a look at history, and you'll see a never-ending parade of horrors. The Holocaust, where millions of innocent people were systematically murdered. The Rwandan genocide, where neighbors turned on neighbors in a bloody frenzy. The atrocities in Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge, where entire families were wiped out. And don't even get me started on the transatlantic slave trade, where humans were treated like cattle and shipped across oceans to live in chains.

But it's not just history; humanity's cruelty is alive and well today. Look at the refugee camps, where people are living in squalor, desperate for a chance at a better life. Look at the children in cages at the border, separated from their families. Look at the people dying in conflicts around the world, caught in the crossfire of power struggles they had no part in.

And let's not forget about the environmental destruction we're wreaking. We're poisoning our own planet, driving species to extinction, and setting the stage for our own downfall. But hey, as long as we can have our iPhones and fast fashion, right?

The drow in Salvatore's books are at least consistent in their cruelty. Some were evil monsters, yes, but they owned it. Humans, on the other hand, hide behind masks of civility and progress. We pretend to be better, to be enlightened, but our actions speak louder than our words. We're a species of hypocrites, capable of incredible kindness but also of unspeakable evil.

We're the real monsters, and it's high time we faced that truth. We seem to be on the ride to MAD and few are looking for an off ramp.
