Marriage is not practical in the modern world

I saw an old friend of mine on the bus. I could tell that he is going through a bad time. Lost everything including the kitchen sink in the divorce. Lost his job too. He has kids to support. He was avoiding me because of what he was going through. My heart broke. Ages ago, I had asked him out. He rejected me and married a pretty woman instead. I do not hold any grudges. It just breaks my heart.

Marriage can be detrimental in the modern world. It is not always the guys who are impacted. Earning women can also be destroyed by divorce. Marriage is slowly turning into a quaint romantic notion.

I sort of agree, though I see more marriages work when you don’t add children to the mix. Marriage becomes a sleepless, angry, overtired Hell on Earth when you have kids, and divorces are even worse when kids are factored in. So, get those tubes tied, get those vas deferens cut, and long live a happy, childfree relationship!
