Junctionville

Junctionville

So after making my first post on here a day earlier, I decided on sharing more of the strange things that I have come across.
First off, I should start by telling you a little about my town. Junctionville is a bare bone sothern town located somewhere in Florida. It was established as a mining community after some local bigshots found traces of coal. Franckly, I have not looked into the history of the town all that much as I just never had the interest. It had a population at around 300-400 residents. Now, the thing that struck me as odd about this town from what I can remember, was the amount of abandon buildings scattered all over the town. And don’t mistake this as the run of the mill normal sort of abandoned buildings. The thing was, none of the abandoned houses were for sale. In fact, there was always a security guard that would guard each building, sometimes it would be more then one but they all would just wander around the outside for hours, never going inside any of the buildings that they were supposedly guarding. The buildings were also kept in good condition, which was weird because I never saw anyone tending to the buildings. The times that I have attempted to talk to any of these ”guards” they would just stare at me and not say a single word. The only time I heard any of them speak was if someone got to close to the abandoned buildings. At that point they would yell ”You are currently trespassing on private property, leave immidietly!” There was also the strange factory on the edge of town that was located a good half an hour walk away from the town. No one that lives there knows what the factory is used for or what who funds it. No one has ever seen anyone walk in or out of the factory and the parking lot next to it is always empty of any vehicles. From what I can tell, it is not actualy abandoned and is fully operational. Once, I attempted to sneak onto the property and peek inside one of the windows. There were guards, similar as to those stationed at the abandoned houses, but there were much much more of them here. Still, being the sneaky little rat that I am, I managed to get passed them unnoticed. I peaked inside one of the windows to see something strange. The resembled a giant warehouse on the inside. The place was empty of any sort of equiptment or machines, except for a single large gaping hole in the middle that was the size of a small crater. Some sort of light was coming out of the opening, it looked like there were movement inside, based on the reflection of the light. I could not stay any longer without the risk of getting caught, so I bailed. I still have no idea what is going on in the small town of Junctionville. I wouldn’t bother looking for this town, mostly because it is no longer there. It collapsed into a giant sinkhole and anyone still living there was evacuated. I now live in a completely different state, but my memories of living there still keeps pestering me.

In regards to my earlier post, The Screw, it occured years ago so it is certainly not recent. I forgot to mention this in that post. In fact, it was mostly just haphazardly thrown together as I was in a bad mood and wanted to just get the post over with.
