its not about the records

I need records of my immunizations to attend college and my parents just. Don't seem to have them, whoopsie. All my medical records from before I was taking care of myself are all jumbled in a huge pile with every other important document in the house, from car repair statements to our cats adoption papers. Sure, whatever, I'll try to comb through everything possible so I can just get this out of the way. Nope, just an outdated one from when I was in elementary school or whatever. No trace of the updated one, or my sibling's records either. Great. So one question. Fucking why did my parents scream at me so much growing up for undone schoolwork??? That sounds really off topic but hear me out for a bit. Granted it got pretty bad, I got so behind every single year since first grade, on account of untreated adhd and childhood depression. It was always lectures on how they were just preparing me for the future, they wanted to open more doors for opportunity or whatever. I never had my shit together. My dad used to say "Everytime we have this conversation I yell at you, and you always end up crying like you've learned your lesson but you immediately start slacking again". Eventually they seemed to realize something might be wrong with me, but always had excuse to not try any solution that required any effort out of them. But still, considering how fucking mad they used to get, you'd think they'd have kept something that I'd NEED to go to college???
By now I've calmed down enough to realize it's not actually about the immunization record, lol. Just some old frustrations I've buried since I graduated high school four(ish) years ago. I'm not looking forward to more of my past angsty self coming back as I get closer to starting classes. But writing this helped, thanks for reading if you actually made it this far.
