Lighten up

I’m mostly afraid of my sister because of how irritable she is. When even a minor thing she wants to happen doesn’t go her way, she usually flies off the handle. I get scared when we go out because, if something happens to her, she might flip out.

Not that this has ever happened, but say we were at a water park and she tripped and fell. The water would soon become salty with her tears. What if she was standing just outside the water slide area and got splashed? Soon, we’d be splashed with her tears.

Take into account that she’s 15 years old, and we’re twin sisters. Despite this, she acts at least 10 years younger than she should (except any 5 or less-year-olds who act maturely, in which case, I apologize for that statement). I just want to do what I want without worrying about my sister’s anger.

Lighten up, sis, please!

It's ok, it will stop. After my older sister's divorce, she had periods of anger and frustration, not over the divorce (she was fine with that), but other unrelated things. I saw her flip on a few people or situations, but she was only calmed down by me. One night, she was off on a rant in her apartment, we were sitting and laying on her bed, she was comfy but going off about things, and dug her very long, dark red nails into my chest so deep she left marks. When she stopped her rather detailed rant, she told me to take my shirt off, which she did for me, to see what she'd done. First she apologized, oh my god I really dug into you, so sorry, etc, but then admitted it did make her feel good and relieved her stress, and for me to be around whenever she felt the need to go off on someone.

Sure enough, two nights later, her one neighbor came upstairs to complain about, of all things, her washing her car in a bikini, which she did the day before. The woman's pre-teen boy was all aroused and out of sorts watching her from a window, and the woman was pissed at my older sister for "parading around like a stripper". Oh, that was it. They got into it, sister took one look at me, said "Get her out of here. Then, it's dig time". I simply as the woman to please ease up, she'd be more careful next time, or we'd take her car to a car wash. No more bikini washes behind the building. I also threw in a "Yeah, it is tiny, isn't it?" comment, making the woman more irritated. But, it worked. And older sister channeled her anger on me, digging her nails into my chest and stomach. I honestly loved it.
