I believe we all reach a tipping point if we truly want to leave. For many of us it’s an addiction so it should come as no surprise that it’d be hard to quit. Social media is designed to be addictive and from a financial perspective it makes sense as to why they designed it that way. We are the customers. You need to learn how to say “no thanks” and walk away from this addiction. You want to quit. Eventually you will quit once you reach that point where you say “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH”. After all we’re not A.I.....We are human beings....flesh and blood with very real world needs that only exist outside the digital world. Everyone eventually has to leave that digital world. So ultimately if you truly wanted to leave then you’d leave but if it’s hard to leave then you don’t truly wanna leave yet. I’m a recovering alcoholic only because I’ve finally reached my limit of lying to myself. I had enough...I snapped!

Unfriend everybody, leave all groups, and delete or overwrite all posts. (If they let you do that.) Then delete your account.

If they only do soft deletes (where you can sign in later and everything is restored) you can change your password, but copy a lot of random characters into it. Change your email account to a fake mail address you won't remember.

I went off of social media for a month (I stopped last week). What I did was give my parents my phone and told them to hide it for a month. I don't see them that often because they have work, so I couldn't ask them for it. They just left it at my door when the one month mark was up. It was hard at first but after that first week, I forgot that I had a phone because I was hanging out with my siblings so much. The amount of time I've spent with them in the past month is probably more than I have in the past year, and that's sad.
