I saw an internship opening in the area that I study in in university. I had no prior work experience in the field at the time. The opening was advertised via a recruiter who mass emailed to all of our EDU addresses. So I happily submitted my resume, CV, and contact info, and thought I was good to go. A few weeks pass by. No response. So I send a follow up email. No response. A few weeks later. No response. So I call the place two times. Both times the person on the end says "I'm not the hiring manager, the hiring manager's in a meeting" and the call ends. I don't know why the person on the end didn't get the hiring manager on the phone. A few weeks pass by. No response and I heard from a few classmates they got the job.
No idea why it seemed easy for some of my classmates to secure a job from this employer while I struggle to get an actual response from said employer, despite having the same exact education and being the same age. I recently completed an internship somewhere else so hopefully these days are behind me
