A Layoff Rant

we came in every. single. day. we were in the car in traffic for hours. in the building. at the desks, physically present. like you DEMANDED with all that RTO chest pounding and culture talk and "we're better together" corporate bumper sticker bullshit, and you never even saw us. we were RIGHT THERE.
we sacrificed our flexibility, convenience, time, and energy. we rearranged our actual lives to be in that building because you said it mattered and it didn't mean a single goddamn thing, did it?
you didn't want culture. you didn't want collaboration. you wanted obedience and when you were done with us you discarded the most obedient ones.
On a Thursday.

that's what showing up every day was worth.
that's what we were worth.
get fucked.
