Your Disabled family is your responsibility

I think any reasonable society will make sufficient accommodations for disabled people in order for them to function and interact properly with their community.

That being said, why do family members of disabled people feel entitled to the help of strangers to take care of them?

I ended up going on a trip to Mexico this year. I rented a Van for us to drive around an island.
Because I was being nice, I gave a ride to an older lady and her disabled wheel chair bound husband to their Airbnb since it was on the way when we got off the ferry. BIG FUCKING MISTAKE.

She requested that I pick her and her husband up for groceries the next day since my accommodations were "on the way back" when we went into the city. This is when I started to flinch a little, but I said ok. We lost half a day of our vacation because we took this elderly couple (who didn't even rent a car or engaged in any prep for this remote trip) out shopping for their groceries.

When we took them back to their place, I politely said good bye and headed to my car. Before I even stepped into my car, she started asking me if we could pick them up again tomorrow to go to the city. When I politely said no, the old hag went apeshit! started telling us that we were pieces of shit for not helping a disabled elderly guy, and how it was our responsibility to help them because they were old and sick.

The fucking nerve! How can someone be so fucking entitled (they seemed like white rich people, so most of them are very entitled). And secondly, how can someone book such a remote dangerous trip without even prepping in the slightest? It's because these people were expecting that strangers would cater to their every need! It's a disgusting attitude.

I don't care if it's your grandpa or your disabled baby NOBODY has a responsibility to them but YOU
