If you are receiving any kind of therapy you should not be in a leadership position. That just shows all those you supervise that you do not have your shit together and cannot handle what life is demanding of you.

I actually agree. Not sure what your context is, but I have a sister who’s the leader of an entire non-profit organization and is communications lead in another. She’s mentioned having anger issues before, but thinks it’s cute and quirky. She also tends to date her employees (would look very sketchy if the roles were reversed) and when she’s “done” with someone she kicks them out of the organization. She’s not mentally all there, has been going to therapy for years, and even went to a therapy summer camp for adults because she got dumped by her fuck buddy of only 9 months. I see her and think about how she really shouldn’t be leading people at all. She’s very unstable, but she leans on the crowd of people who easily validate everything she does when it honestly shouldn’t (like anger issues being cute and quirky. It’s really not and it comes off very tone deaf knowing our parent was a victim of domestic violence in the past). anonymous 9 minutes ago
^ As someone who used to work in the "helping" fields, people like your sister are pretty common. They go to "therapy" for the same reason Tony saw Dr. melfi, to get one sided validation and to have their stories prepared. And I'm sure the shitbag "therapist" in the situation has no problem taking her money. anonymous 5 minutes ago
And the whole thing of dating employees and all of that jazz. Very true as well. LOTS of sexual harassment in those places if you're a male. anonymous 4 minutes ago
