The Chinese government is kinda weird

Catholicism is one of the official religions of the people’s republic of China even though less than 1% of the population is Chinese because the CCP thought it would be a good idea to create their own Catholic Church called the Chinese Catholic Patriotic association. Meanwhile, Catholics are banned from being communists and China has a fundamentally atheist government.
