The best Indian food

The best Indian food is found in people's homes and served at temples and Indian churches. Since I left home at the age of 17, I was often told by non-Indian people: "We love Indian food." Their idea of Indian food is Butter chicken (chicken in tomato ketchup, cream and butter). Some kept accusing me of eating snakes and cobras. One of them quoted some famous movie for putting that idea into their head. I had to keep repeating that 70 to 80 percent of Indians are vegetarians. I have been very disappointed by Indian restaurant food. Nothing beats the love and care that goes into preparing a homemade meal.
If you want the real taste of Indian cooking, make friends with some Indian aunties. Get yourself an invite to their home for lunch or brunch.

I left home at a very young age and I did a lot of growing up. I faced a lot of hardships along the way. I have tasted food all over the place. Nothing beats the food that is cooked at home: be it a white home or an Indian home.
