Anyway, you called a mechanic in BFE what did you expect? Probably a badass mechanic who's self taught and shit, and might've given you a better deal ngl. Those "first come first serve" mechanics with terrible customer service can be dirt cheap. What you probably got was some clown in a corporate uniform who marked you up at a ridiculous rate per corporate policy. But they gave you a blow job and a whole reach around, so it worked out.

and why the hell wouldn't you want a mechanic to look at your car first? What kind of ass backwards logic is that? I've worked in the industry, but know jack shit about cars. I may as well be telling the dude down the street it doesn't go vroom vroom anymore, but he's like a 9000 year old gear head. he doesn't give a fuck. He tells me when he's open. I drop my car off early. Then he charges me spare change and parts. Is he a dick? Absolutely. I'm not sitting on a mountain of cash though and I trust him just as much as all the local franchisees.

Shit, in fact he's great. You take a car to him for a double check and he'll complain about all the fancy school educated kids following corporate policy and trying to nickel and dime you. People with really nice cars seem to trust him more than the franchisees too.

Some battles really aren't worth fighting.
