You end up exchanging messages with some awkward, sad ass account you liked out of sheer desperation. You aren't crazy about them, but hey, they actually seem to be responding and are making some attempt at conversation.

You meet. Your instant vibe is that if this were someone you were to had been around in person first, you'd have never even wanted to pursue them. You fake a smile, ignore all instinct and bad vibes, and go along.

They are usually pretty low in terms of functioning and I guess self worth too. Get ready to be around someone who didn't even attempt to dress up or look good for you, AND is most likely drenched in perfume or hand sanitizer.

If it isn't already clear enough, these types are ackward and not in the normal way. They are a conversational black hole. Low in terms of ambition and social skills. Peaked at a young age, and not some former mean girl, just an outcast who was kind of spoiled.

They pretty much don't know what they are doing. What they want. Why they are there or anything. It's just like they want a relationship, because.

I want actual love and intimacy. And if it's a good stable relationship, I wanna do some fuckin too. See, I know what I want. These types never do.

They might ask about you, but will tune you out after two words. If you don't meet their Gilmore Girls, Twilight, romance novel version of what a guy is supposed to be, they aren't going to be interested. They want someone to rescue them from their mediocre life, and I guess to play sexy serial killer in the bedroom if they're one of those weird ass true crime obsessed women that are always on dating apps.

You can either try to keep it going, just out of some delusion it can turn into whatever you want. Or, end the sad charade after the first date. My mistake in the past was trying to make it work with these types, and good lord would I be miserable now if things had worked. I'd be in the sort of awkward, shit, distant, loveless relationship that I guess most people are in. I'm not having that.
