Longshoreman Strike

Most Americans don't even know what a Longshoreman is or even what they do. Not a very popular topic on the socials where folks spend most of their down time. But they are going to get a crash course really soon when prices of everyday items start going up, up, up depending how long the strike lasts. And it won't be just about cars and appliances that come into the East & Gulf Cost Ports.

American personal care products companies don't make a lot of the items sold in America, they only "distribute" them. The product is actually made out of country - Latin America, Eastern Europe, India, Asia, etc. - where it's way cheaper to do so, just like the Big Pharma companies do with a lot of their products. Even if the product is made in the US it may likely be from ingredients sourced overseas for the same cost savings. And these personal products or their ingredients arrive in the US at East & Gulf Cost Ports to be off loaded by Longshoremen who are now on indefinite strike.

tl;dr: Longshoreman are on strike so your favorite personal care products won't get to store shelves.
