So, I've entered this new company that writes sustainability reports and others. There was a task that was given to me for a brand to rewrite and paraphrase for their 2024 sustainability report. I feel like a headless chicken because I've been doing this for a week, and it feels like the Senior Writer and the consultant assigned are the ones doing it instead of me and the consultant (originally). This leaves me feeling like an incompetent employee because I was a headless chicken from the start when this project was given to me. Yes, I'm guided by the Senior Writer, but it feels like that consultant and her are friends, thinking that they're the ones who can write this report perfectly, which left me feeling incompetent and useless. I'm already 2 weeks into my new job, but it feels hopeless because its deadline is tomorrow, and it feels like they're the ones who did it instead of me (which I can learn afterwards).
Should I resign? I don't want to receive a sanction related to this (after what happened to me in my previous company). I just want to step up and do something, but it feels like I can't.
