If they want to leave, let them

If they want to leave, let them

I keep seeing all this toxic stuff about how to win back someone who is avoidant or who has walked away. The real answer is very hard but also very simple.

Don't do it.

I know you're in love. I know you're afraid of the loss. I know you want to love them for the rest of your life. But partnership requires an actual partner. If they are more ready to walk away than they are to stay, they aren't ready to be an actual partner, you can't actually change that, and shouldn't try.

Bless them in your heart, but let them walk away. Anything else is just wasting your time and programming you still further to work harder than you ever should, and to accept less than you deserve. It's not to say they are a bad person. But it is to say they are not ready. That's not something you can fix.

What you can do is build yourself up and heal even when it feels pointless. If you do that, you might run into someone who is actually ready for the kind of love you want to share, and you might still have something left to offer them.

And if you don't find that person there's always prostitutes and escorts. Overall a night with them is cheaper than dating someone that it doesn't work out with, and you're supporting the local economy. Just good policy there.

Saving your energy and money for the local entrepreneurs who need both is indeed the right play.
