I’m confused

Ok so I can’t really ask people any of these questions or share my opinions because I’m pretty sure I’ll get hated on. Disclaimer I’m not well versed in this subject at all. I keep seeing people hate on Israel for what they are doing to Palestine but how can they hate Israel as a whole? It is the military and government (I think) that are doing this not the people so I feel treating it as if the regular people have done something wrong isn’t fair. I’m sure a lot of people are just trying to live regular lives and would never dream of hurting others. I feel like this will make people ashamed to be from Israel and be Jewish when in reality you can’t choose where you are born. Before this stuff happened as a Jewish myself I always felt bad for Israel in the past because of the countries around them who hate them and attack them because they are Jewish. Basically I'm asking someone to enlighten me on this subject because it has been on my mind for so long and I just can’t quite grasp or understand it I feel I’m missing something
