I let go of my dietician and personal trainer. Excessive weight training was leading to stress, hormonal disbalance, injury, persistent soreness, weight gain and disrupted sleep. My upper body was becoming muscular and bulky like a man. I did not sign up to lift 150 pounds 60 times. I did not sign up to have quads like Ronaldo or Messi. I am a woman for crying out aloud. I wish to look like a woman.
After one week of recovery, I have lost 4 kg. I am healing from the constant inflammation. I am eating healthy whole foods. I got rid of the processed protein that was recommended. I walked 5 km today. I am strength training within reason using resistance bands.
Sometimes in desperation to lose weight, we go for drastic measures. What is more important is consistency and discipline over a long period of time.
I too face temptation. I too want a brownie or gulab jamun or cake or cookie. It is a choice in order to live longer with a good quality of life. I plan to fully enjoy my retirement and have a good quality of life. So instead of brownies, I eat apples and oranges.
