I bought a few vegetables like butternut squash, eggplants, lettuce, mushrooms, cucumber, bag of oranges etc. My total bill came to 88 dollars. No wonder I spend most days eating just rice and beans or lentil soup. Chicken, fish and meat are cooked once a week only because it is expensive. I am worried about my old age. I have no children to take care of me. I need to save enough. Hopefully all my money invested in stocks does not tank. I have stopped spending money on clothes because I have enough clothes. I stopped paying for a gym membership, dietician and personal trainer. I exercise in the community center for free. That saved me a lot of money. I stopped getting those medical facials too - another money saver (saved 2000 dollars a year). I changed all recurring costs to the cheapest plan that I need.
I am making progress in the right direction. I know it is unpolished to talk about money, but these are the facts about every middle class common man/woman.

I bought 14 items the other day, 12 food items, 1 six pack of alcohol, 1 bottle of Aleve, $75
I was SHOCKED, seriously ridiculous pricing
I knew when covid gouging was happening that prices would never go back down but now I feel they are corporate gouging even more
We're screwed because orange stain is going to make it even worse all across the board, for everyone, every country

This is why my backyard is enclosed and covered. I have a vegetable fruit garden and a few chickens. I make my own clothes. And grocery shopping on a state job once a month pay sucks. anonymous 2 hours ago
