Coffee shop

People are bored out of their minds. So they walk to the nearest or farthest coffee shop to buy a cup of coffee that they could have easily made at home and saved money.
They have to take a walk in the neighborhood showing everyone that they are holding that cup of coffee in their hand. It is quite a skill they have acquired because they do not drop coffee on their clothes. Sometimes, it involves walking the dog and picking up after the dog. I call it the 'I paid for coffee show'.
If they are being wasteful, they will spend an extra 4 dollars on a slice of pumpkin loaf or banana loaf bread. Banana loaf is the easiest thing to bake.
It is not like people go to the coffee shop for company. Most of them sit alone or just buy their coffee and walk out. Before the pandemic, I occasionally used to meet a gay guy friend at a coffee shop. So, I am guilty too.
Mind you, I was one of these people. Now that I been away from a coffee shop or restaurant for 1 year due to the pandemic, I have realized the amount of money saved. Maybe I am not good for small businesses like coffee shops.
After all, a coffee cup is just something to hold and something to do when you are waiting for the next thing to brighten your life.
