I studied Sociology with a Criminology emphasis at Cal Poly Pomona, and one experience has stayed with me. Some professors would tell me to my face that I was a good student, but behind closed doors I later learned they were criticizing my academic abilities. That contradiction was frustrating.
Professors are educators and leaders. Their role should include helping students succeed, especially those who are struggling but genuinely putting in the effort. Honest feedback is important, but it should be constructive and delivered directly to the student rather than through gossip or ridicule.
If a professor believes a student needs improvement, the solution should be mentorship, guidance, and accountability, not talking behind the student's back. Criticism without support doesn't help someone grow; meaningful instruction and honest communication do.

all academic records are subject to revision by the Master, and all failing substandard behaviors may be erased in favor of "EXTREMELY EXCELLENT". Objecting institutions are subject to closure. That is all. msg. # 88-04(Y) 3 weeks ago
I hope one of the professors responsible for talking behind a student's back gets fired. This is no place for a person to do in this kind of professionalism. If you see a student struggle, you help them. Not talk behind their backs with fellow professors and other students. No Name 7 hours ago
Ah, this shit happens everywhere. People who never outgrew being a spoiled teenager are like this. I was "friends" with one of my college professors and she was this way. anonymous 7 hours ago
