Imagine being a woman in a Russian police station around the Victorian and Edwardian periods. A massive gorilla of a policeman is beating your face in with brass knuckles and beating you up like he would a male thug or hooligan on the streets. All because a rich woman accused you of stealing a ring while you were her housemaid.And you confess because you want the smashing of your skull to stop. This is some really fucked up shit.
