Charging for Thanksgiving Dinner

I get that food is expensive and people can contribute. I'm not even saying I won't pay. But charging a cover fee for Thanksgiving dinner is SO tacky!

Why not a potluck? Because you all insist on having the food the *only* way that *you specifically* cook it. Because you refuse to eat at anyone else's house because you might not like the food. This is a fact you've stated again and again. And you refuse to let us bring sides or desserts.

We could reduce the dinner down to a few dishes so it's not as expensive OR labor intensive (which you ALSO complain about!) BUT NO, you have to have the ridiculous number of sides that almost nobody eats. If one person eats one spoonful was it really worth it?

We could take turns hosting. But again, you won't eat at anyone else's house. So we will once again be forced to eat the bland slop you call dinner... and PAY for it??

This isn't an expense thing! It's a control thing! And I can't WAIT until the linchpin is removed and we can stop going to your house altogether.
