Ugh

So, my boyfriend and I have been not officially planning our wedding for the past few years, but squaring away everything we want: outfits, venues, theme, aesthetic, events, blah blah blah. And a lot of the things we settled on are somewhat unique, and really special to us. Well, his sister recently got married earlier this month, and she hit almost every single thing we want down to the letter. Aesthetic, handfasting, theme, layout, literally all of it. And so now I feel like I can't do what I want anymore because it'll look like I'm copying her and that's definitely not what I want. It's irritating. And a lot of these things are things that I personally have wanted to do at my wedding since I was a kid. And I'm stuck between saying fuck it and doing it anyways, even though it'll look like a damn near copycat wedding, or saving my pride and doing something else. And it's not like she's a mutual friend or something where it wouldn't really matter. She's family. She's literally my sister-in-law. And like 80% of the people who attended her wedding are also gonna be at mine. Idk, it might be petty or whatever, but hearing people say how great her wedding was and how unique everything is also really pmo. Esp bc a lot of the things they did were pagan traditions--something I've always wanted to do, because personally, religion is not for me and I want that stuff FAR away from my wedding--and the dude she married is still religious, and they plan on raising their kids in the church. And like that's cool and all, that's your life, I have no qualms. But don't have a pagan wedding and then plan to raise your kids to believe they should damn the pagans???? Maybe???? That's all, I feel like I'm losing my mind lol
