Taking Back That Mile

The Democrats are so prideful in their moral superiority that the are still bouncing like dead cats from their Election Day fall. So now they know there's only so much other shit people are willing to listen to when the topic goes off how much money is going in my pocket & how much is going to stay there.

So sure, people see the merits of gay couples having something akin to a marriage license after the AIDS crisis that struck so many down in their prime before thinking about a will, leaving them & significant others (SOs) at the mercy of their homophobic parents they fled from decades ago because their SOs had not the legal ability to make medical decisions and such for them when they became too sick, and then the SO possibly finding themselves on the street when the parents get the home after their loved one dies because their union of decades is not considered valid. The marriage license is one of the most powerful legal document there is, especially in case of a sudden unexpected illness or death. They need that give it to them.

But what people are not even interested in fake listening to or complying with is all the "these are my pronouns". If their friends and family want to go along with it to be supportive, good on them. But outside of that orbit the pronouns for the rest of the world reflect the sex on the birth certificate, regardless of how dressed to go along with the new set of pronouns. The original birth certificate issued when born is another powerful legal document. It says no to using the noncorresponding bathroom, playing on the noncorresponding spots team, getting fellow coworkers in trouble with HR for not addressing with the noncorresponding pronoun.
