Mike Waltz should just put himself out of his own misery and resign. No coming back from his big mistake which was not using the unsecured Signal app, but being caught being so blatantly chummy with a reporter as to have them so high on the contact list they can be so easily added in to a military action planning group chat. Makes him look like a leaker, and that's not good for remaining on Trump's good side. This new "promotion" as styled by JD Vance, from National Security Advisor which is a prestigious inner circle cabinet position, to UN Ambassador banished to the wilderness outside of DC cabinet to NYC is truly a de facto demotion. He has been kicked to the curb hundreds of miles away. And his getting the job is not even a guarantee. If Trump does not direct his Republican senators to easily waive him though the confirmation process, they may decide to use him as an example of how they are on top of national/military security to the folks back home and not confirm him. This would be a good bone for Trump to toss to his Republican senators to allow them to seem less like rubber stamps instead of a co-equal branch of government, a win for them and a win for Trump to finally be rid of a person he views as disloyal.
