This world can be a very harsh place for women, especially colored women. Nobody likes women. Nobody especially likes happy women.People phone me not out of concern or care, but to know if anything bad has happened to me. They get angry when anything good happens to me. They are waiting for bad news.
I have been a people pleaser, but I need to start thinking about myself.
There is a guy who loves me, but he is too young (he is in his mid 20s). I have been warding him off. Who cares what people say? He is a good man.
Even a rudderless feminist needs some closure.
