people who say something is theirs when its not

why do we and people do this? we always say things like ours even tho we havent achieved nor done it? used to do it now i dont really care any longer but people still say the word theirs or my when describing something, things werent yours and no its not your shop because you just work there you dont own it same with football clubs their fans always say its their club but they dont own it nor run it? its bizzare and ive only realised this recently. is it trait of narcissism that we have to own it so its always now ours? even tho technically we have very little to do with it? ive noticed fans of boygroups or idol groups always say "our boys" like they own those grown men and women its very weird.

then theres people who always use my before any sentence is there any other word i can use to replace my? im tired of using it myself see what i mean? u cant not be self centred a little sighhhh. my this my that and im like no one really going to care at the end of the day so why do people use such words if they think people are going to be so interested in THEIR personal thing?
