Somewhere down the line, Trump creates a gun control act called something like "Patriotic Security Act". Likely after another CEO gets or almost gets Luigi'd. Under this hypothetical future act, Trump does not just go and grab guns right away. Instead he regulates them to the point that you need to file an application for approval to do as much as shoot at cans behind your barn. Otherwise your guns need to stay tightly locked up and failure to comply will result in grave consequences for you. This is given teeth mostly through survellence technologies, some which have already been use in the crime ridden areas of many major US cities for years now, such as gunshot detectors. This system will most likely be brought into being by Musk, but other existing infrastructure will be employed too. Such as Ring doorbell cameras, self driving taxis, and yes Teslas whose external cameras will now have microphones and will send this data back to the company "mothership". This noose will be tightened further bit by bit, and aside from catching the first and obvious people in the dragnet, this reach will extend far and wide. This new "Patriot Skynet" does not just capture gunshots, it captures words both online and spoken aloud. If any thoughts you have against Trump are made known, you lose your guns. If they think you might be a bit mentally ill, you lose your guns.

And with this huge survellence apparatus, backed by continually impoving AI, they might decide that one day the "temperature" is too hot and that it's time to grab everyone's guns.

Again, it might not play out this way but it could.

You're right. That's why he didn't start grabbing guns on the first day in office. But after not just one but two attempts on him last year, you can bet that he's considering it, and keeping it hush hush for now. But sooner or later he is going to put plans into motion to start restricting them, to start watching them, and yes he's going to begin grabbing guns. Especially if he gets a big green light in the form of another CEO getting capped.
