Middleschool to Highschool

Elementary school was great, although I didn't really have friends, it was good, I was a straight a student. Then everyone started to tell me in fifth grade "Middle school is the worst, you'll get bullied, you'll lose friends, you'll fail all the classes" and I was scared for my life going to middle school because of these idiots telling me that middle school was the worst. Then middle school happened, I didn't get bullied, although I was really shy and awkward and ugly, I didn't have many friends to start with but I did lose one, I failed my classes but got my grades up and passed them in the end. Middle school is meh, pretty boring, a few assholes here and there but I don't mind it, it's not the worst like the morons said it would be. This year I'm going into eighth grade, so the last year of middle school before I go into high school. And yet again, people tell me that high school is even worse than middle school, and I don't know if I should believe them or not because middle school isn't as bad as everyone said it would be. Some people do say that high school was the best years of their lives, but some others tell me to not believe them. High schoolers, can you tell me what high school really is about? Is it much worse than middle school like most people say it is, or is it a lot of fun? It could be different depending on who you are, so this is who I am: Super shy, not many friends, lonely, average grades, not interested in parties, mostly ignored. I don't mind it, but I do wish I had more friends and that algebra made more sense.
