Left my wife

I can’t believe I actually did it. This was by far the hardest breakup of my life. I walked out on my wife of 15.119 years. Not because of any one thing. Because I have been imitating a what a good husband would be.
Anniversary approaching and just dying inside.
Our almost 15yo daughter’s screams will haunt me tonight. I hope I can win her back.
Wife def has a screw loose, like conflicts with almost everyone in her life: any authority figure, no true friends, estranged from family, unable to keep part time work, and long term colleagues and family shunned her.

But I supported her. Not like a sweet guy nice husband tho. Like a begrudging partner. Think sibling devotion.

When the whole world is against you, sometimes you have to wonder, is it me? And maybe make a change?


I’ve had booze and weed troubles, so she’s quick to paint it as a total out of left field dumping, but it is not. I just finally followed through after saying I was gonna leave but not following through.

I feel awful. I have protected her from how she’s alienated herself from everyone by saying to her, as one might to oneself,” it’s not me it’s them!” But this has not helped and maybe made her and our isolation more profound.

My poor daughter. She and I def have a special bond and she is so hurt by this bc I’ve left her too. In the den with the crazy lady. I figured after the dust settles I’ll get 1 week on/1 week off with the wife and that’ll be better for the kid long term. To get a break from casa de crazy instead of continuing to tiptoe around momma and her turn on a dime control freak mood swings aimed at her, or me. But being a fully formed adult, I chose the crazy bitch. Kid ain’t have a choice, and I could not figure out how to give her a choice now.

Just had to jump for my own sanity. Going nuts placating wife all the time plus suppress self plus sole provider plus on secret team with kid and always being discovered and admonished for. Exhausted. Can’t fake it anymore.
